Meet Our Staff

  • Dr.
    Tim Baker,
    DVM
Dr. Tim Baker grew up on a farm in Berkey, Ohio where his family raised livestock. As a result, he developed a keen interest in large animals, and determined to have a career in livestock work. After completing his education at Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996, Dr. Baker joined a general veterinary practice in Ottawa, OH. There, through involvement with both small and large animal patients, Dr. Baker watched his veterinary interests expand to include companion animals. In 2003, Dr. Baker established his practice at the current location in Hillsdale to have the best of both worlds. He has scaled to focus on companion animals and now provides health care to a mix of small animals. Dr. Baker has three children: Kyle, Lauren, and Abbey and three stepchildren: Brayden, Elijah, and Elayna. The household includes an energetic and playful dog: Toby, a Maltese. They also have a bright orange corn snake; Ziggy and Roxie, a Green Cheek Conure. Dr. Baker enjoys Ohio State football and basketball; and, when he can find time in summer, he likes to go to the lake.
  • Nicole Angel,
    Veterinary Assistant
An animal lover, Nicole can say there isn't an animal she doesn't like, as they all interest her. Yet large animals are her favorite. She fell in love with cows while helping on a neighbors farm when she was a young teen. Nicole's love of animals has guided her education choices. She is attending Baker College studying vet technology and hopes to stay in Hillsdale or Branch counties after graduating. In the meantime, Nicole is the veterinary assistant here and may be seen assisting in other areas of the hospital as needed. She brings a fresh perspective and energy. Jonesville is home to Nicole, where she was born and raised. She shares her home with two rescue cats; Max, an orange short hair and Ruby, a long-haired tortoise shell. Both were rescued from Quincy No Kill Shelter. Two pit bull mixes, Zoey and Otis, are also part of Nicole's family. Whenever Nicole has free time between work and school, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Nicole particularly enjoys being outdoors on the lake. Otis loves kayaking with Nicole, while Zoey prefers sunbathing on the shore. Wherever Nicole goes, though, usually one of her four fur babies are with her.
  • Danyelle Fryman, Veterinary Assistant

Danyelle grew up on a small farm in Petersburg, Michigan. For as long as she can remember, she has had a love of animals. She loves all kinds of animals, especially exotics. Danyelle is owned by a German Shepherd, Jerry Lee, and an Aussie-Chihuahua mix named Skylar. Also, four rescue cats share her home; Sunny, Zeek, Cancer, and Jackson. Danylle enjoys spending time with her family during spare time.

Currently, Danyelle is attending Penn Foster studying veterinary technology. She wears a number of hats here as an assistant to the doctor for appointments and surgery. Danyelle also helps at the front desk a couple of times each week.

  • Sharon Hammill,
    Kennel Assistant
Behind the scenes, Sharon provides essential help after office hours, which is an important part of care for Hillsdale Veterinary Hospital. Sharon cares for boarders after hours, including weekends and holidays. She never misses a beat walking the dogs outside and ensuring their food and water is taken care of and cat litter boxes are clean.
