Pet Surgery Performed by Our Veterinarians at Dogwood Veterinary Hospital & Laser Center

5.jpegSurgery at Dogwood Veterinary Hospital begins with a consultation with our Newnan veterinarians to determine the best procedure for your pet. We provide pre-anesthetic labwork to identify any metabolic abnormalities before your animal undergoes surgery. Our veterinary team administers pre-medications to keep your pet relaxed and allows us to use a lower dose of anesthetic gas. We provide pain management before, during, and after the procedure. Your pet will be prepared for surgery using aseptic technique, and the doctors follow sterile protocols during every procedure. A technician will monitor your pet’s vital signs (heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, body temperature) during the procedure, and a technician is dedicated to your pet’s recovery and comfort while they are in the hospital.

Whenever applicable, our veterinarians use a laser surgical technique to decrease bleeding and bruising, increase healing time, and allow for a smaller incision. We also use Class IV laser therapy post-operative which has been proven to speed healing time and improve wound closure for the surrounding communities of Newnan, Moreland, Sharpsburg, Whitesburg, Palmetto, Arnco Mills, Woodsmoke, Peachtree City, Senoia and South Atlanta.
