Registered Veterinary Technicians
They are the animal medicine equivalent of registered nurses in human medicine. In Ohio, veterinary technicians are required to have completed an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program and pass the Ohio Veterinary Medical Licensing Board's Veterinary Technician national exam. Veterinary technicians must also meet continuing education requirements yearly. Veterinary Technicians administer medications, monitor animals under anesthesia, assist in surgery, take radiographs, perform lab work and dental procedures. Technicians must also deliver compassionate nursing care. __________________________________________________________________________________________________
