Certain breeds of cats and dogs are more prone to
developing eye disorders. In some cases – as with brachycephalic breeds
like Himalayans, Persians, bulldogs, pugs, and boxers – it's a matter of
anatomy. In other cases, such as with Siberian huskies, beagles, and
Jack Russell terriers, it's a hereditary predisposition toward certain
diseases, such as cataracts and glaucoma, that's a concern.
