Transcervial Insemination (TCI)

Norris Ai

Transcervical Insemination (TCI): Using a rigid scope, a catheter is placed through the opening of the cervix. Semen is passed through the catheter into the middle of the cervix or into the uterus. This technique is well tolerated by most dogs, but is technically challenging. In rare cases, especially in certain breeds, the cervix is oriented in such a way that catheterization is not possible. The uterus is NOT visualized with the TCI scope.
