Dr. Sara White was born in Colchester, England where she lived for 10 years and became an avid fan of James Herriot. She spent the rest of her childhood in Mclean, Virginia. After completing a bachelor of science degree from James Madison University in 1992 she attended Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1996. She spent the first five years as a veterinarian in a small animal practice in Arlington, Virginia. During this time she volunteered at the D.C. humane society and helped start a mobile spay-neuter service. She moved to Richmond in 2000 and worked at West End Veterinary Hospital. After the birth of her first daughter she decided to become a relief veterinarian and practiced all over the Richmond metropolitan area up until the opening of Winterfield Veterinary Hospital in Midlothian.
