Dr.  Janet Henderson

Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Veterinarian (CHPV), DVM

I have been practicing veterinary medicine since 1997 and it is truly what I love.  My life has been improved through the love of dogs and the disdain of many a cat.  Each of them has touched me in ways that I could never explain as they have managed to leave their paw prints on my heart.  As a pet owner myself, I understand the very important role that they each play in our lives as well as how important we are to them.

I have worked in various veterinary hospitals over the years where I gained a wide array of medical experience and I have taken extra certification courses in Canine Physical Rehabilitation (CCRP) and Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (CHPV).  In October of 2012 I knew that I needed a change.  I wanted to spend more time with each individual patient and focus on the family unit as a whole so I established Caledon-Vaughan Veterinary House Call Services where I could visit each pet and their family in their own home environments.

My passion is helping you to work through all of the variables to make the decisions that work best for your pet, yourself and your family.  Even as a veterinarian with extensive training and knowledge it is still difficult to make important medical decisions for my own pets when emotions are involved so I know how important it is to have professionals to guide you. I want to help you to provide the best possible quality of life for your pets right up until their very last days.

You are your pet's champion and protector and more than anything I want you to know that you are worthy of this role.  I want to be there to guide you as you make the most difficult decisions we as pet owners all inevitably face.

Catherine Bryant

Client Service Manager, Veterinary Assistant and Clinic Manager

I've always had a love and passion for animals however I initially started down a different career path.  I trained to be a chef and worked in the culinary field for 5 years.   Although I enjoyed this I always felt like something was missing. I wasn't fulfilled.  One day I took my puppy in for a checkup and noticed that they were hiring, it was like the sign lit up and I knew I had to apply!  I was hired and it was the best decision I have ever made.  I enjoy spending time with the animals and their owners and I feel like I'm learning something new everyday!  In my spare time, I spend my free time cuddling up on the couch with my 2 cats (Lily and Captain Jack), hiking, spending time with my family and traveling.  I have also completed Fear Free training in order to make veterinary visits less stressful for your pets and you.

Dr. Audra Martin

Emergency Veterinarian, DVM, BSc, MSc

Originally from Hamilton, ON. I graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia in Dec. 2015. After only a short visit home, I left for SE Asia to pursue veterinary work in Vietnam and Thailand. I lived in Thailand and worked at Soi Dog Foundation (SE Asia’s largest animal welfare shelter) for 1 year before returning to the GTA to continue my career as a veterinarian in general practice. I worked at a lovely GP practice in North York before getting the itch to learn more and take on a new challenge!

In 2017, I completed a 1 year rotating internship at the Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital where I gained experience in surgery, emergency (ER) and other specialty services. I thoroughly enjoyed the excitement, challenge and fast-paced environment of ER medicine and joined the ER service of Toronto Vet Emergency Hospital (TVEH) before joining the team at Caledon Vaughan Veterinary House Call Service (CV vets!).  I currently balance my position as an ER veterinarian with my alternate role as an associate mobile veterinarian with the CV Vet house call service.

I love the challenge of both roles and am looking forward to meeting the wonderful clients of CV Vets.

In my time off, I enjoy yoga, going to the gym, snowboarding, and spending quality time with my boxer-poodle, “Hudson”.

Antonietta Melchiorre

Veterinary Technician

I have been a Veterinary Technician since 1998 when I studied at Sheridan College. I have worked at several veterinary clinics throughout my career and have also been part of medical research to find cures at Princess Margaret Hospital and the Canadian Blood Services. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work abroad in Australia as one of the leading Veterinary Technicians where I enjoyed working with many different species.  Along the way I got married and had three beautiful children.  I decided that it was important to stay home with my children but my love and passion for animals was too strong to stop working with them altogether so I happily continued part time  with Dr. Henderson and Dr. Martin.  I am able to help animals and their families with a flexible schedule that fits my family perfectly.
