Veterinary Technician (Pet Nurse)

Applicant must be a dynamic individual with great technical and people skills to join our team as a WA state licensed veterinary technician.

We are a busy small animal exclusive hospital and candidates should enjoy a fast-paced environment, be a self-starter, with the ability to work & think on the fly. We have a great staff and a competitive benefits package, including a generous CE allowance. Salary to correspond with experience.

Duties include, but are not limited to assisting veterinarians, acquiring histories, placing IV and urinary catheters, obtaining radiographs (including digital dental), monitoring anesthesia, assisting in surgery, assisting with advanced surgical & dental procedures, patient care, and client education/communication.  Educate customers on routine pet care related topics. Review and answer questions related to treatment plans, final invoicing & go home instructions. Provide “first class” customer service. Provide historical information by thoroughly documenting calls. Works with other staff members to ensure timely and accurate digital chart notes are completed in a timely manner.

Qualified candidates should be friendly and mature, able to multi-task, keep a clean and organized work space.  Intermediate ability with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Software and E-mail required, Mac savvy is not required but is a plus.

Previous experience as a veterinary technician (at least 1 year) and flexible hours are a requirement including some weekends.

Candidate should be licensed in the state of WA or have an up-to-date license/certification/registration and be able to apply for a license in the state of WA.

Students in a PIMA or other veterinary technology program may also be considered depending on previous experience, skill level and school schedule.

Veterinary Client Service Coordinator

Customer Service – Schedules appointments via phone & email. Answers customer questions concerning procedures performed or about to be performed on their pet, answers questions pertaining to vaccines, pet food & various medications. Educates customers on routine pet care related topics. Reviews and answers questions related to treatment plans, final invoicing & go home instructions. Provides “first class” customer service. Provides historical information by thoroughly documenting calls. Works with other staff members to ensure timely and accurate digital chart notes are completed in a timely manner.

Coordinates customer calls & call backs regarding patient care and various other types of communication & updates. Able to “manage” the daily veterinary scheduling book appropriately by maintaining technical knowledge of how long each appointment or procedure actually takes relative to the overall outlook for that day.

Education and Experience - Associates degree in Veterinary Technology or related field, or equivalent related experience. - Certification in Veterinary Technology preferred. - Minimum of 2 years experience in animal hospital setting required, flexible work hours are also required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Excellent customer service skills including patience, ability to listen and ability to provide a positive experience with all interactions. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. – Consistently displays strong analytical skills. - Demonstrated ability to solve problems and find appropriate solutions. - Displays strong oral and written communication, especially over the telephone, both internally and externally. - Accurate and efficient data entry skills. -Proven ability to effectively handle multiple tasks. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Ability to adapt and be flexible in a variety of situations. - Proficient telephone communication skills. - Intermediate ability with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Software and E-mail required, Mac savvy is not required but is a plus.We have a great staff and a competitive benefits package, including a generous CE allowance. Veterinary Assistant

Performs routine patient check-ins, (weight, temp, etc), set up and run in house lab samples, performs routine hospital maintenance, cleaning, sterilizing & stocking.  Cross trained to schedule appointments via phone & email. Under the direct supervision of the DVM or LVT: Answers customer questions concerning procedures performed or about to be performed on their pet, answers questions pertaining to vaccines, pet food & various medications. Educates customers on routine pet care related topics. Reviews and answers questions related to treatment plans, final invoicing & go home instructions. Provides “first class” customer service. Provides historical information by thoroughly documenting calls. Works with other staff members to ensure timely and accurate digital chart notes are completed in a timely manner.

Education and Experience – PIMA or other veterinary technology program student or graduate. Previous experience working in an animal hospital or related field. FFA, 4-H, farm/ranch experience also considered.
