Katie Pesina, Office Manager, CVT
Katie is the Office Manager and a Certified Veterinary Technician. She grew up in Cokato and graduated from Dassel-Cokato High School. Katie obtained her A.A.S. degree in Veterinary Technology from Ridgewater College in Willmar. She has been working in the veterinary field for 20 years and been with the Animal Medical Center since June 1, 2004. She and her husband live just outside of Silver Lake. They have 2 boys Kaeden (6) and Keagan (2) They have a dog named Teddy a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. She also has two cats - Sophie and Auggie. Katie enjoys walking, being outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family.
Technician
Abby Munson, CVT
Abby is a Certified Veterinary Technician who joined our team in July of 2016. She has 7 years in the veterinary field. She is from Atwater and graduated from A.C.G.C. in 2013. She completed the Veterinary Technician program at Ridgewater College in Willmar and graduated in 2015 with an A.A.S. Degree in Veterinary Technology. Abby has a Labrador named Ronny and she has 2 cats Stirfry and Cali. She enjoys quilting, embroidering, hunting, fishing and anything outdoors.
Annette Simon, CVT
Annette is a Certified Veterinary Technician! She is from Royalton and graduated from Royalton High School. She then completed her A.A.S Degree in Veterinary Technology at Ridgewater College in Willmar. She comes from a large family with one brother and four sisters. She has one dog, a Puggle Mix named Cleopatra and five cats, Rain, Frostbite, Storm, O'Riley and Malibu as well as beef cows. Annette enjoys anything outdoors, reading, coloring and hanging out with friends.
Hathaway Darnell, CVT
Hattie is another of our veterinary technicians. She started with us in May of 2017 as an intern from Ridgewater College. She did such a great job, we had to keep her on staff. She just graduated with her A.A.S. Degree in Veterinary Technology. She is originally from Hutchinson and graduated from Hutchinson High School. She comes from a large family of six brothers! She has three German Shorthaired Pointers named Ranger, Rosie and Moose. She enjoys fishing, hiking, biking, volleyball, hunting and being outdoors.
Shauna Wehking, CVT
Shauna started with us as in intern May of 2019 from Ridgewater College. She graduated college with an A.A.S. Degree in Veterinary Technology and she recently passed her board exam and is now a Certified Veterinary Technician. She is from Cosmos and graduated high school from A.C.G.C. She has one dog a Pomeranian mix named Opal and 2 barn kitties. In her spare time she enjoys deer hunting, crafting and playing softball.
Rachael Dahl, CVT
Rachael is our most recent addition to our technician staff. She started with us in April of 2020. She grew up in Grove City and graduated from ACGC High School. She went on to Ridgewater College and received her A.A.S Degree in Veterinary Technology. Her and her husband Brent live on a hobby farm near Olivia where they have 2 dogs, Mona and Hatchi, 2 cats Chester and Carson, a horse Delila, a goat Barbie, a chinchilla named Buddy and chickens and peacocks. Rachael enjoys riding horse, reading fantasy books and spending time outdoors.
Reception
Shantay Schaufler
Shantay is our lead receptionist. She grew up in Buffalo Lake and graduated from Buffalo Lake-Hector High School. She and her husband Rodney have two dogs,Thunder and Rein and two horses Rebel and Charitie. She enjoys horseback riding and truck pulling.
Kennel
Peggy Brekke
Peggy Brekke is the kennel manager. She has over 22 years of experience. She is originally from Hutchinson and graduated from Hutchinson High School. She and her husband Gary have one son named Mike. They have two dogs and several cats. Her hobbies include gardening.
Sarah Bollingmo
Sarah Bollingmo is a kennel assistant. She has over 5 years of experience. She grew up in Hutchinson. She and her husband have two children, 9 fish, 2 fiddler crabs, 1 plocotomus, and 2 cats Dott and Gracie.
Grooming
Heather Griswold , Pet Groomer
Heather Griswold is a Certified Pet Groomer. She is here Tuesdays and Thursdays. She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Mayer High School before attending the Normandale Cutting Edge Pet Grooming School. Heather has over twelve years of experience and has been with Animal Medical Center since September of 2010. She also breeds and shows German Wirehaired Pointers, German Shorthaired Pointers and Poodles. Her hobbies include showing dogs and trail riding. She has been showing German Wirehaired Pointers for 5 years.
