In 1998, we received the prestigious Veterinary Economics Merit Award for hospital design. Dr. Morris was lucky enough to be chosen to share her love of our profession in a careers article in USA Today.

Dr.Larry Klaaren
Dr. Larry Klaaren has had a love for animals since he grew up on a farm in southeastern Iowa. He had a habit of taming feral cats and carrying them around while working and playing on the farm. The family had the pleasure of letting their dogs run free on the property, something that is no longer safe or legal! Dr. K.'s family had golden retrievers that he loved to take along with him as he brought in the cattle for their evening milking.
He also had his own herd of swine from age eleven until he was twenty, and at fifteen began breeding purebred Yorkshires and selling the males and crossbred females for breeding purposes.
After graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University, Dr. Klaaren practiced in the St. Cloud and Rochester, Minnesota areas before moving to the Chicago region. He is interested in woodworking, the Blackhawks, Cubs, Bulls, and Iowa State athletics, and is also a pastor in the Reformed Church in America.
