My Greatest Teachers, My Patients and NAET

The many undergraduate and professional school classes which prepared me to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine were valuable in laying the foundations for understanding health and disease, in addition to the principles of diagnosis, surgery, dentistry and medical treatments. I am so grateful for the many scientists, veterinarians, medical doctors, acupuncturists, chiropractors and professors who shared their knowledge and spurred my interests to search for solutions when no known cures existed.

As I reflect on the many lessons in my career, I truly believe that my greatest teachers have been the animals I’ve treated, the animal guardians/owners who have made great observations and loved their pets enough to keep searching for cures, and the alternative modalities which brought about unexpected cures.

On of the most powerful alternative treatments I perform on pets is called NAET (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Treatment). This treatment has taught me more about the immune system and development of disease states than any other therapy I perform.

Dr. Nambudripad first cured her own allergies with this treatment, and then confirmed its effectiveness by treating colleagues and family members. It utilizes acupressure to retrain the immune system while the patient (human or animal) is being exposed to an allergen.

When I first heard of the treatment, I was skeptical; but after seeing many pet patients who were suffering with severe allergies, I decided to study NAET. To my surprise, the treatment proved effective for the improvement of allergic skin conditions, asthma, food sensitivities and conditions like inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune disorders. And, to my surprise, many pets with other conditions, which I had not considered directly related to immune system disorders, also showed improvement and remissions with the use of NAET.

The first pet I treated with NAET (in 1998) had allergies and Staphylococcus hypersensitivity. She had been treated with antibiotics and prednisone, but as soon as she was taken off medication, her skin would break out in hives and pustules. She also had horribly negative reactions to prednisone. On the lowest doses, she would pant all night and urinate throughout the house. NAET cured her Staphylococcus hypersensitivity and other allergies within 6 treatments, allowing her to live comfortably and drug free.

The next several pets I treated were traditional seasonally allergic pets, and all but one of 12 dogs were able to stop their allergy medicines.

With my thirteenth patient, something interesting happened. The 12 year old dog had a moderate sized tumor, and after treating the food and inhalant allergies, the owners noted the tumor was going shrinking. The immune system improvement seemed to cure the tumor as the allergies diminished.

After that, I started seeing pets with cardiomyopathy, a form of heart disease, have improvements in their echocardiogram measurements. Pets were able to have reduced levels of cardiac medications.

Dogs and cats who had undergone numerous surgical procedures for the treatment of bladder and kidney stones stopped forming stones and crystals. In one case, a pet had been operated on six times, was on prescription foods, and still had recurrent stones. After a course of NAET treatments, she stopped forming stones and her bladder infections resolved.

Asthmatic cats were able to have reduced emergency presentations, and reduced levels of steroids/inhalers. Diabetic pets became non-diabetic, or were able to be managed with lower insulin levels. In one of the most surprising cases, a diabetic with Cushing’s disease and a torn cruciate ligament not only achieved blood glucose control, but also became sound on the injured leg without surgery.

What I have learned from all the cases that responded to NAET over a 20 year period was that immune responses are intimately involved in the development of many, if not all, diseases - not just ones we consider allergic or autoimmune. I also found that emotional events for animals and their owners had a lot to do with the development of immune system disorders, cancer and allergies included. And the treatment of those emotional events with NAET produces better healing responses.

The path to managing chronic, recurrent and immune- based illnesses in my patients takes into consideration the root cause of diseases. A careful look at factors that rock the boat, immunologically speaking, such as excessive vaccines and abrupt changes in diet, in addition to foods consumed at the time of another illness, are factored into the NAET treatments my patients receive. Perhaps we can prevent cancer by correcting the immune system insults at an early age. In my practice, I use minimal numbers immune suppressive drugs like prednisone, Atopica, Apoquel and other traditional allergy treatments, because NAET has been a great teacher and healer for 80% of my most allergic pet patients.

IF your pet is suffering with chronic illness, drug sensitivity, an immune or allergic disorder, consider seeking NAET as alternative course of therapy. The treatment is also available through human practitioners for allergic and autoimmune disorders for adults and children.

The doctors and staff of our animal hospitals are here in service to the community. Please let us know how we can help and know that our prayers are with you and your families.

"[We] would like to thank you all and Dr. Jones for the great presentation today! He was very informative and so willing to answer everyone's questions! Gee, we had him talking for almost 2 & 1/2 hours! Everyone learned and his presentation was extremely well received! If your office would ever like to collaborate again, please let me know! Thank you very much!"
