Michael
Hayman, DVM, is originally from Mequon, WI. Dr. Hayman summered in the Lakeland area for over 25 years before returning to practice veterinary medicine in 1989. Dr. Hayman graduated from
University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He became a partner with Dr. Race Foster, Dr. Marty Smith and Dr. Theuerkauf at Foster Smith Animal Hospital in
1991. Besides practicing high quality medicine he has a strong interest in orthopedic surgery and reproductive medicine. In his free time, Dr. Hayman spends time with his wife and two
children enjoying all the Northwoods has to offer.
Dr. David Theuerkauf - D.V.M.
David
Theuerkauf, D.V.M., is originally from Menominee, MI, where he grew up in a large family working on the family farm. He attended Michigan State University, receiving his Doctor of
Veterinary Medicine degree in 1985. He worked in a busy small animal clinic in Detroit for 1½ years before deciding to move to the Northwoods and join Dr. Race Foster and Dr. Marty
Smith at Foster Smith Animal Hospital. He became a partner in the business in 1987 and has loved the Northwoods that he calls home for the past 30 years. Dr. Theuerkauf enjoys the
many facets of small animal practice with particular interests in ophthalmology cases, soft tissue surgery and internal medicine.
Dr. Theuerkauf has been married to his wife, Audrey, since 1987 and they have 3 children, Wesley, Brian and Carly. He and his wife have been very proud of their children’s athletic and academic achievements and they especially enjoy raising their family in the Northwoods Area.
Dr. Theuerkauf has been very active with the community, helping coach youth hockey for the Lakeland Hawks and Northern Wisconsin Blizzards as well as help at the Lakeland Thunderbird Hockey games. He is a member of the Minocqua Lions Club and has served as the Lions President. He also served on the board of directors of the Northwoods Wildlife Center, and continues to provide services for the center when injured wildlife are in need. Dr. Theuerkauf enjoys time with his family and houseful of pets.
