Dr. Elizabeth Kuan

Dr. Elizabeth Kuan

Dr Elizabeth Kuan volunteered at Cambie Animal Hospital for over 9 years and is now back as our full-time veterinarian.

Dr Kuan went to the University of British Columbia and graduated with a degree in Animal Sciences. She then traveled “down under” and obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Melbourne, Australia. There she advocated and fundraised to improve the welfare of retired racing greyhounds. While in school she also developed a strong interest in animal behaviour, anaesthesia, and emergency medicine. Since returning to Cambie Animal Hospital she has discovered how rewarding General Practice work can be. She enjoys the relationships she forms with her clients and loves receiving updates on how her patients are doing. And although she loves an intriguing emergency case, emergency vets don’t have the added bonus of cute, healthy puppy and kitten visits!

Dr Kuan has always loved dogs and has a “scottie-poo” at home. She did, however, fall in love with her housemate’s cat (pictured here) when she was away at school and now loves both species equally. If it’s a slow day and we have boarders in, you can find Dr Kuan sitting in the kennel room with cats in her lap.

When not working, Dr Kuan is a lowly servant to her King-of-the-House dog, Oreo. Together they go on long walks, watch countless TV dramas, and gorge themselves on treats.
