Dr. Joanna Brackett was born and raised near Lubbock, Texas. She moved to
Oklahoma in 2005 to attend Oklahoma State University, and majored in Animal
Science. In 2015 she graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at
Oklahoma State University. For the first two and a half years of practice,
Dr. Brackett worked as a mixed animal veterinarian, in rural central
Oklahoma. In 2016 she received her license to offer chiropractic services
to her patients large and small. Over the past year, she has been
providing relief services for veterinary clinics all over the state of
Oklahoma. During this time, she began working for Dr. Mixer at Waterloo
Animal Hospital and quickly grew to love the patients and clients here. She
is now the full time associate veterinarian at Waterloo Animal Hospital.
Dr. Brackett is without a doubt, a crazy dog person. She currently has 4 of her own dogs, 2 cats and 2 horses. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, volunteering her time for public service and relaxing with her pets. Her favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is working on a wide range of animals which keeps her well rounded and continually learning new practices. She is also passionate about patient care and believes compassion and empathy goes a long way in helping sick pets recover.
