Buford came to Birdneck Animal Hospital seeking Dr. Johnson's care for several very deep and badly infected wounds. Due to the severity of these wounds and the fact that Buford is thirteen years old, diabetic, and hyperthyroid, we would have hoped to get these wounds healed in four to eight weeks. With the use of the therapeutic laser he was 99% healed in just three weeks!
Buford's owners testimonial: "The proof is in the pictures. There was discussion of possible surgery prior to the laser therapy because the wounds were so deep. After laser therapy, wounds are completely healed and no surgery necessary!"
Below are some before and after images of Buford's wounds (caution: graphic images)
This is a photo of the wounds he came in with, prior to cleaning them up and prior to beginning the Therapeutic Laser Treatments.
This is Buford "goggled up" wearing the protective eyewear. Protective goggles are required of anyone in the presence of the laser, even the pets! (check out our facebook album of other "goggled up pets).
Below, six days into treatment the wounds are drying up and getting smaller.
Below, two weeks into treatment the wounds are much smaller and the tissue is healthier.

Lastly below, three weeks into treatment the wounds are almost completely healed!
