Birdneck Animal Hospital and Dr. Johnson, your Virginia Beach veterinarian, recommend that all pets receive an identification microchip. This is a sterile device the size of a grain of rice that is injected under the skin between the shoulder blades on the top of the pet's back. Should your pet become lost or stolen, this device allows your pet to be identified and returned to you.
The application of the chip takes only a moment and because it is placed under the skin, and not in the muscle, the discomfort of application is minimal. The chip itself is tiny (see photo). We carry the Home Again chip at Birdneck Animal Hospital. Please call us for more information.
