Learn Who We Are

  • Tim Harmon DVM
    Veterinarian, Practice Owner-Junior Partner

Tim Harmon is a Kansas native that has veterinary medicine in his blood. His love for animals started very early in his parent’s veterinary hospital where both his mom, Cathy and dad, Gary were veterinarians. Tim loved exploring the practice as a child, playing with his favorite clinic cat Peanut Butter and going on farm calls with his dad to check cattle and horses. In college Tim studied and received a Bachelors degree in German Literature and spent several years living and studying in Germany. In 2005 he received his DVM from Kansas State University College of Veterinary medicine. He has a strong focus in pain management and patient care.

Tim lives with his wife Lindsey and daughter Amelia on a small farm where they raise chickens and geese. They have Great Pyrenees that work as livestock guardian dogs and a few house dogs and several lovely felines that keep life interesting indoors. Two horses grace their back pasture. He enjoys tinkering on his future airplane engine, reading and cooking. His current endeavor is to learn to bake the perfect pie.

  • Michael Bukowski DVM
    Veterinarian, Practice Owner-Senior Partner

Since 1992, I have had the honor and privilege of being able to help the people of Sanford and Southern York County care for their pets. I strive to treat every client and patient with the due diligence and respect that I afford my own family and pets. I also expect nothing less from my staff.

I enjoy all aspects of the general practice of veterinary medicine and surgery and find it most rewarding that being a veterinarian allows me to combine the great human invention of science with the great human virtue of compassion. I do my utmost to ensure that the procedures and therapies chosen for my patients are supported by the best available evidence and technology.

I am a 1988 graduate of Colby College and a 1992 Graduate of the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. It was at Colby where I acquired my affection for the State of Maine and its people. Eager to return to the state I love, in June of 1992 I was hired to work at the DMVC as an associate veterinarian by Dr David Spahn and the late Dr William 'Jack' Holt. Under their tutelage I developed my strong work ethic and learned the art of veterinary medicine. In January of 1997, I became a partner and in December of 2011 acquired the practice and property outright, allowing Dr Spahn to enter a well-deserved semi-retirement.

I reside in Portland, with my wife and our four children, two dogs: (Truffles, a rescue terrier and Winnie, a Tea-cup poodle). We also enjoy the company of two cats Ginger and Triscuit. Queenie, our third cat, lives at the clinic. When not working I enjoy spending time with my family, relaxing on Cliff Island in Casco Bay, snowboarding up at Sunday River, mountain biking or enjoying the many fine restaurants that Portland has to offer.

Thanks again for considering the DMVC!
