  • Dr. Cheryl Pfeffer
    Dr. Cheryl Pfeffer

    Cheryl Pfeffer DVM, CVA is a native of Oklahoma. She grew up in the Shawnee area and knew from a young age that she wanted to be a Veterinarian. She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1990 and her DVM degree in 1995 from Oklahoma State University.

    During Veterinary School, she completed an internship in Exotic Animal Medicine at Kansas State University, where she had the opportunity to work with two zoos.

    After graduation, she and her husband moved to Dallas where she worked with both companion animals and exotic animals. She came home to Oklahoma in 2005 where she has continued to work with all of the pets that she loves and joined the family of Animal Medical and Surgical Hospital in 2010.

    Dr. Cheryl Pfeffer loves being able to make a difference in the lives of her patients and their people. She enjoys working with furry, scaled, and feathered family members. Her special interests are dermatology, ultrasound, endocrinology, internal medicine, orthopedic, soft tissue surgery, feline medicine, exotic pet medicine, acupuncture, and herbal therapy.

    In her free time she likes to spend it with her husband, James, her three children, three dogs, and one cat. She also likes painting, sewing and gardening.

    Dr. Pfeffer is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association, the Tulsa County Veterinary Medical Association, and the Association of Avian Veterinarian. She also received her Acupuncture certification at the Chi Institute in Florida.

  • Dr. Vanderhoof
    Dr. Alison Vanderhoof

    Alison Vanderhoof DVM, CVA is originally from Texas but went to school at OSU to obtain her Bachelors and DVM degrees. After graduation, she was excited to make Tulsa her new home and when the opportunity arose to work at Animal Medical and Surgical Hospital it seemed like the perfect fit.

    Dr. Vanderhoof says AMSH feels like home and loves that her job brings something new every day. She also likes building relationships with the pets and their owners with the intention to provide the best care possible for a lifetime.

    Watching pets grow and overcome obstacles is just one reason why Dr. Vanderhoof finds her job rewarding. Another reason she loves being at AMSH is having the opportunity to learn new things from other doctors at the hospital. She finds the support system and family dynamic a huge contributor to her success.

    Dr. Vanderhoof has been married for 18 years and has one son named Cormac. Her four legged companions consist of a dog, cat, and a rabbit! Speaking of rabbits, that is one of Dr. Vanderhoof’s special interests as a Veterinarian. She has quite the soft spot for them and provides excellent care to anyone needing services for their bunny.

    During her time as a Veterinarian, Dr. Vanderhoof completed her certification in acupuncture at the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine. This practice helps all kinds of ailments such as pain, arthritis, and even GI problems. She also is a part of the Oklahoma Veterinary Medicine Association and the Tulsa County Veterinary Medical Association.

  • Dr. Alexis Gullic
    Dr. Alexis Gullic

    Alexis Gullic DVM is from Tulsa but went to the University of Missouri for Veterinary School after obtaining her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science at Oklahoma State University.

    Before graduating from MIZZOU, she did her externship at Animal Medical and Surgical Hospital and decided the facility was a great fit for her because of the incredible mentors and support system provided. She now brings a whole new dynamic to the hospital offering canine reproduction.

    On top of her interest in reproductive medicine, she also enjoys ophthalmology and dentistry. In order to grow her list of skills, she hopes to eventually provide wildlife rehab.

    When Dr. Gullic isn't working, you can find her playing video games or reading fiction novels.  She has three dogs of her own; Mickey, Minnie, and Daisy. Mickey is a long-haired dachshund who loves squeaker toys, Minnie is a miniature schnauzer who likes to cuddle under blankets, and Daisy is a Rottweiler who loves her dental treats! 

    Dr. Gullic is a part of the Oklahoma Veterinary Medicine Association and looks forward to helping all patients to keep them happy and healthy and care for those who are in need of medical attention.

  • Caitlan Treat
    Caitlan Treat
    Practice Manager

    Caitlan Treat is the Practice Manager of Animal Medical and Surgical Hospital. She oversees all of the staff management and scheduling, inventory control, and product management. She started as a receptionist in 2017 and has been blessed to be able to work with each department closely since moving to management. Caitlan also grew up a military brat which stemmed her love for traveling the world and learning about new cultures. When Caitlan isn't busy working at the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her dogs, Nike and Stetson, and continuing her education. She is currently double majoring in Forensics and Psychology at Colorado State. We are extremely lucky to have her on the team! 

Receptionists

Katy, Sara, Rachel, Charlotte, ShiAnn, Sydni, Roxy, and Lorrie are the first smiles that you see when you enter either one of our Animal Medical and Surgical Hospital locations. They make sure that you and your pet are taken care of and answer any questions you may have.

Brie, Ellen, Tiffanee, Juli, Ashleigh, Bailey, Kam, Sarah, Kinley, Kay, Kai, Holly, Alexis, Lenny, Macey, Josie, Pamela, and Sable are our highly trained nurse and nurse assistants. They take great pride in making sure that all of your pets needs are met while they're in the hospital.

Animal Caregivers

 Jordan, Justin, Yanie, Melia, Conner, and Schelbilynn are our top notch kennel staff that make sure your pet is pampered and cared for while you're away. They work 7 days a week to ensure your pet gets the proper care like feeding and administering medications. We also offer add on services such as; extra playtime, special food, bathing, and more!
