Dr. Barb - Thoughts From The Conference

I just returned from 3 days away at the annual conference for Ontario Veterinarians in Toronto. As usual I am re-infused with enthusiasm and appreciation for the profession, the animals and the people involved in being a veterinarian. Love you all!

What struck me this year is just how much we can do to help problems we thought previously hopeless. Things like cancers, some kidney and liver problems, eye problems, bladder problems and the "just getting old" scenario. Our animals are living longer, like us, and there are many new products and new studies to help arthritis, brain changes, sluggish metabolisms (or over-active ones in cats!).

When I am older I sure hope my doctor tries as hard on me as we try for our animals. Please ask any of our clinic team where you can start to help your aging pet, especially if you are noticing changes in drinking, activity, behaviour or digestion. We're almost half way though winter so keep your chins up and keep active!

PS: New tick products for next month!
