Dr. Joe Barbosa acquired the Animal Hospital of Hallandale in 1993 from Dr. Ward, and has pass the clinic to Dr. Cepeda in 2023.
Since then, Dr. Joe Barbosa has performed 1,000+ surgeries (excluding spays and neuters) at his Hospital in Hallandale.
Dr. Barbosa received his veterinary degree from Universidade Federal Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1980. In 1987, he took the intensive post-graduate course in Clinical
Veterinary Medicine at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. In 1990 he became licensed to practice in the state of Florida.
Through the years, as a general practitioner, Dr. Barbosa has attended various continuing education courses and seminars including advanced dentistry, orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery,
and internal medicine. He speaks English, Portuguese, and Spanish fluently. He and his staff welcome new and current clients with a friendly smile and excellent service and look forward to
serving your pet's health care needs.
