Meet our veterinary technician, Meredith! Her job is to ensure patient health, safety, and happiness.
She was born and raised in Texas and has loved dancing since she was 7. She even went on to start teaching and doing choreography. After high school, she went to VII to get her Associate’s degree of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. She found her way to the veterinary industry because the only thing that brought her happiness was the companionship of animals. One day it just clicked, being in the veterinary industry was what she wanted to do with her life. After an externship with a surgery center, she was hooked. She decided to keep going high-volume, low-cost spay and neuters and took a job doing that in a no-kill shelter. From there, she took a job in a general practice working with exotics and small mammals.
Meredith’s interests lie in parasitology and clinical pathology. She loves looking at cell morphology and doing anything with a microscope. She also really enjoys dentistry!
At home, she shares her life with Achilles, an 8-year-old Scottish Fold cat with the sweetest personality. She also has a 7-year-old cat names Spacta that she bottle fed when she was a baby!
In her spare time, she loves to cook, paint, and do anything creative. She tries to spend as much time with family as she can. She also loves to teach young kids how to handle exotics, showing them proper restraint, how to take vitals, animal behavior, and even how to process a fecal sample.
