Meet Our Team

Phoenix Veterinary Center is a small animal veterinary facility established in 03/2015. We are proud of our progressive medical and surgical philosophy and high level of client service. We are affiliated and collaborate with 2 other local veterinary facilities (University Animal Hospital - Tempe, AZ and Laveen Veterinary Center Laveen, AZ) to provide a broad spectrum of knowledge and over 150 cumulative years of DVM experience. Our practice offers clients digital radiography and digital dental radiography, state of the art anesthetic machines and anesthesia monitoring, a beautiful surgical suite in addition to our passion for diligent preventative care. We have a close community, a practice culture of exceptional medical care, client services and a team environment.

  • Dr.
    Evan Ware

Growing up in a Cleveland, Ohio, all of my neighbors knew which door to knock on when an animal issue came up.  Whether it was rounding up animals to bring to the vet, an emergent pet-sitting need and even trapping and releasing the raccoon that made its home under the deck - it seemed no job was too big.  As time passed, I realized that a career didn’t have to be a drag if I always did something that I loved.  I have never looked back.

One of the little secrets about our profession is the bond that develops with the pets and owners.  My career can be a wild ride of experiences and emotions, but at the end of the day, I frequently find myself grinning because our team has helped the lives of our patients.

Two aspects of my profession come to the top of my mind when people ask what I like best about my job - cases that are particularly challenging and require research and learning, and the relationships that I have developed during my years of practicing.

During my spare time I enjoy spending QT with the family, traveling, photography and sports.  Our family has a goal to visit one new national park every year.  Sunday nights at the Ware house mostly involves a mass of people, pets and pizza squished on the couch watching a movie.

Dr. Evan Ware studied for his undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University in microbiology and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!)

  • Grace G

Grace was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She grew up surrounded by dogs, and this is where her interest in animals began.

After working at an animal shelter, Grace's love for animals began to grow. Working at the shelter made her realize she wanted to continue her education in animal care and pursue a career as a Veterinary Assistant.

Grace loves being able to gain knowledge and new experiences and looks forward to furthering her career as a pet technician.

  • Michelle B
    Hospital Manager

I am originally from California, where I attended UCLA and earned my BS in Physiological Science. Later, I moved to Seattle, WA, where I became a mom and attended Pima Medical Institute to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician.

I worked as a veterinary technician in small animal veterinary clinics for 8 years before moving into management. The most rewarding part of my job is being able to help my staff blossom into the very best veterinary professionals that they can be! I love participating in continuing education, and I hope to earn my CVPM certification in the not-too-distant future.

I have loved animals ever since I was a little girl. I would insist that my parents would set out food for all of the stray cats in the neighborhood, and, before long, I had lots and lots of feline friends! I have a particular soft spot for very old animals, especially large breed dogs. My husband and I have rescued three old dogs over the years, and we are so happy to be able to provide them a loving home for the rest of their days.

Today, we share our home with our two cats, Martin, a hilariously grumpy, Ragdoll-looking cat who was found in a trash can as a kitten, and Dave, the sweetest feral tabby cat you'll ever meet. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, riding my Peloton, and traveling around in our RV.

  • Sarah L
    Operations Specialist

Sarah moved from Wisconsin to Phoenix in May 2021 with her husband Mikey. She has been in the veterinary field since 2003 and has worked as a receptionist, assistant/tech and marketing coordinator prior to arriving at the Phoenix Veterinary Center.

Outside of work she enjoys Disney, shopping, music, tattoos, true crime stories and exploring new places. Her house is mainly a cat home, but a dog sibling may be in the future.
