Drs. Ryan and Helen Rutter have been providing veterinary care to farm animals in this area for greater than 15 years. They are both graduates of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. They own a small farm in Athens county where they raise Murray Grey and commercial cattle. Other farm residents include horses, a miniature donkey, goats, dogs and cats.
Dr. Ryan has owned horses and cattle his entire life. An Ohio native, he has competed in rodeo events, and worked at a 100,000 acre cattle ranch in NM before veterinary school. His interests outside work include hiking and never ending farm maintenance. Dr. Ryan has a special interest in cattle care and reproduction, and also equine dental care. Dr. Helen grew up on Long Island, NY, but has made Ohio her home since 1997. She is an avid three day eventer, competing off the track Thoroughbreds at the preliminary level. Her interests outside work include horseback riding and running. Dr. Helen has a special interest in equine reproduction.
