In addition, we also know that people are going to be worried when they hear that their pet might need surgery. At Amigo Animal Hospital, we strive to make sure that everyone who comes to see us understands the process of pet surgery at our hospital. Common Reasons Why a Pet Needs Surgery

At Amigo Animal Hospital, there are a few common reasons why a pet might need surgery when he or she comes to see us. One of the most common reasons is a broken bone. Like people, pets can be involved in accidents as well. From time to time, these accidents might lead to a broken bone. Surgery might be needed to set the bone so that it can heal properly.

In addition, some pets might have a cyst or abscess that needs to be drained. This is a pocket of fluid that might need to be drained and removed. In some cases, this fluid might even be infected.

Finally, we may also need to perform surgery at Amigo Animal Hospital to remove tumors that might be present. Some tumors are benign while others are malignant. In some cases, we might not know until we take the tumor out.

How Pet Surgery Proceeds at Amigo Animal Hospital

Before any surgery takes place, we are going to answer all the questions that our families have. Then, we are going to use anesthesia to put the pet to sleep during the procedure. While the pet is sleeping, we will complete the operation. This is done to minimize discomfort and movement. Then, once the operation is done, we will take the pet to a comfortable area where he or she will wake up. Trust us to take good care of your family member during surgery.
