    Dr. Nilo Arboleda

    Dr Nilo Arboleda trained under the VSTEP (Veterinary Skills Training and Enhancement Program) while doing his Board Exams for the North American Veterinary Licensure. As part of the program, he was mentored by Faculty members of the OVC (Ontario Veterinary College) at Guelph. He received his full licensure in 2007 and has since worked in big and busy practices (Chatham Kent Group of Vet Hospitals and Beattie Animal Hospital, Brantford)  in Ontario, gaining very valuable clinical work experience along the way.

    Opening Thomas Glen Erin Animal Hospital is a dream come true for him and his wife Dr Irene Neri-Arboleda. Prior to coming to Canada, they both owned a companion animal practice in the Philippines for 14 years. Dr Nilo Arboleda has also done research work in Australia with the South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) and has lived there for 3 years with his wife and 2 sons. His main interests include surgery and internal medicine. 

    He is also a member of the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA). Dr Arboleda loves the Canadian outdoors and enjoys going camping. kayaking with his family in his spare time.

    Dr Irene trained as well under the mentorship of OVC (Ontario Veterinary College) faculty at Guelph as part of the VSTEP Program. Irene has done a lot of internship hours with several Vet Hospitals in Toronto and Hamilton areas. She is a fully licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in North America.

    She also finished a Masters degree in Conservation Biology of exotic species, specifically the tarsier,  one of the world's smallest primates. She earned her postgrad degree from Adelaide University in South Australia. Her research interests have earned her research grant awards twice from the National Geographic Society Committee of Research and Exploration. She maintains her links with international co-researchers, continues to write for international peer reviewed scientific journals  and review project proposals for international funding. An advocate for modern, cutting edge, state of the art technology, she loves learning new veterinary medical trends. She is a member of the Canadian Academy of Veterinary Dermatology (CAVD) and Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA)

    Dr Irene has completed in 2013, an Avian and Exotics Clinical Medicine and Surgery externship at the New York Animal Medical Center under Dr Katherine Quesenberry. She looks forward to extending the clinic's scope and provide healthcare services to rabbits, chinchillas, birds, iguanas, ferrets, hamster, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, lizards and more with the aim to continually update herself with the current medical trends on exotic pet care, to best serve these fascinating and unique group.

    Dr Irene enjoys interacting with clients and has particular interests in Internal Medicine and Surgery. She loves mentoring student volunteers in the clinic. In her spare time she likes to travel, cook, read, watch movies and attend Zumba classes. A buddy to her 2 sons Nic (who graduated from University of Toronto-Mississauga) & Marc, a who is a Computer Science and Math graduate from the University of Toronto-Mississauga as well, plus Marshall, the big boy cat, who has claimed his permanent spot on Dr Irene's office chaise lounge in the clinic and Munch the bunny, who has been like Marshall's little brother :-)
