Licensed Veterinary Technician

Plattsburg Animal Hospital is looking for a compassionate Veterinary Technician to join their team! This position can be part-time or full-time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides compassionate care to patients and clients
- Keeps accurate medical records in accordance hospital policy
- Prepares and maintains the exam rooms and treatment areas
- Performs physical assessments and records observations
- Restrains pets using Fear Free Certified Guidelines (training provided)
- Prepares estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients
- Explains necessary follow up and homecare instructions
- Stocks clinic treatment area and exams rooms and informs inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered
- Assists the Veterinarian in medical, surgical and dental procedures; prepares patients for surgery; administers anesthesia; monitors patients during surgery and recovery; administers fluids
- Cares for all surgical materials; keeping the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT)
- Must have a positive attitude and be a team player

Services offered at our state of the art, 7,000 square foot facility include: a full in house IDEXX laboratory, after hours emergency services, digital x-rays, ultrasounds, computed-tomography (CT) as well as other medical, surgical and dental care. Urgent Care/Emergency Veterinarian
Location: Plattsburgh, NY
Description:
Plattsburgh Animal Hospital is looking for an Urgent Care/Emergency Veterinarian for the only emergency hospital within 30 miles of Plattsburgh, New York. Our urgent care hospital is open from 6pm-Midnight for urgent care services, and we provide on-call services from Midnight-8am. This position would be for 4 shifts per week with a minimum of 2 weekends per month.
Key responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat diseases and injuries of pets; primarily dogs and cats
- Examine animals to determine the nature of disease or injury and treat animals surgically or medically
- Communicate with referring veterinarians
- Advise animal owners about sanitary measures, feeding, and general care to promote the health of animals
- Participate in ongoing education, seminars, and training as appropriate
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree
- Current DVM license in New York or ability to obtain New York license
- 2 + years of experience practicing emergency or urgent care veterinary medicine
