Imaging 4 Pets is a sophisticated, mobile veterinary ultrasound service, with the most common ultrasound procedure performed at SHAH, Inc. being Abdominal Ultrasonography. The series of images gathered on site are either forwarded to a Board-certified, Veterinary Radiologist for interpretation, conclusions, and recommendations for going forward with the patient's care or to a Board-certified, Veterinary Internal Medicine specialist for reading and assisting in the patient's diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment.
The next most common procedure is Echocardiography (ultrasound imaging of the heart) including imaging of the heart valves, assessing their function, imaging valvular structure, measurement of the heart chambers' wall thicknesses, monitoring blood flow into and through the four heart chambers, as well as through the four heart valves, and out of the heart identifying and diagnosing various heart defects and diseases.
All ultrasound imaging procedures are performed as an outpatient procedure and since it is non-painful to the patient, most pets tolerate it well, fully awake with no sedation.
Usually the above procedures are preceded by a complete physical examination, Digital Radiographic (X-ray) Imaging, and submitting laboratory specimens for testing. In conjunction with Echocardiograms, a blood pressure reading is usually obtained here at SHAH.
