Deep Tissue Laser Therapy “Cold Laser” aka Photobiomodulation is defined as a form of light therapy that utilizes non-ionizing light sources in the visible (400-700nm) and the near-infrared (700-1100nm) electromagnetic spectrum. Using this type of therapy can result in alleviation of pain and inflammation, immunomodulation and promotion of wound healing and tissue regeneration. It does this by changing the condition of damaged tissue by stimulating cellular metabolism thereby accelerating the healing process.

How does this special light do all of that? The light enters the tissue targeting Cytochrome-C. The Cytochrome-C Complex is found in the inner membrane of the mitochondria (the powerhouse of every cell) and is a vital component of the Electron Transport Chain (ETC). ETC drives cellular metabolism. When Cytochrome-C is stimulated, ATP production increases and Nitric Oxide along with a Reactive Oxygen Species are released. Why are these actions important?
