Cytopoint

CADI IL-31 immunotherapy

Cytopoint®, formally known as Canine Atopic Dermatitis Immunotherapeutic (CADI), is a sterile caninized anti-IL-31 monoclonal antibody injection. It interrupts the cycle of itch and inflammation in dogs with atopic dermatitis by targeting the IL-31 pathway.

  • The injection starts to reduce itchiness within a day, successful itch reduction by day 3, and generally lasts for a full month (in some patients may last 2 months).
  • Cytopoint® is a biological therapy. It is not a drug, and therefore is broken down and recycled by the body naturally.
  • Cytopoint® remains in circulation for several weeks.
  • Safe to give dogs of all ages.
  • This is not a steroid or immunosuppressant.
  • Given subcutaneously in accordance to body weight.
  • No contraindictions with other medications including parasiticides, antibiotics, antifungals, corticosteroids, vaccines, immunotherapy, antihistamines, or  immunosuppressive antipruritic medications (Apoquell®  or cyclosporine).
  • Side effects are uncommon but may include vomiting, diarrhea and/or lethargy.
