Colfax Veterinary Hospital is a full service community focused animal hospital.  We have served the greater Colfax area since 1982 with continued effort to provide the best and most compassionate care we can with a practical approach to each individual patient.  We have always participated in community service and support and are an active member of the Colfax Chamber of Commerce.

Our facility was remodeled in 1991 to provide for future growth and meet the needs of our community.

Dr. Ed Fritz

Dr. Fritz is a 1981 graduate of Washington State University.  He is dedicated to providing the best care possible by utilizing area specialists and maintaining current continuing education giving each patient personal attention and care.  He is currently working on a certificate degree in Veterinary Forensics, the "CSI" of veterinary medicine, providing forensic services to the local humane society, animal control officers, and District Attorney's Office.  He also has an interest in dog and cat reproduction and provides breeder consultation and surgical insemination  services.  Dr. Fritz is an active member of the CVMA, the California Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps, and the International Veterinary Forensic Science Association.  He has lived in the Colfax area for over 30 years.  He has a love of flyfishing, backpacking, yoga, and hiking with his wife, Erin, four children, and "fifth child", Charlie (in photo)!

He is a founding member of the Colfax Historical Society and past president of the Colfax Lion's Club.  He regularly donates his time to the Senior Projects and Career Day at the Colfax High School.

We also host students from both the Nevada and Placer Regional Occupational Program, Carrington College, and the Boston Reed College.

The most important feature of the Hospital is our professional staff.  We place a strong emphasis on continuing education and training to provide the best care as a cohesive team.

We understand the special role your pet plays in your family and are dedicated to becoming your partner in your pet's health care. We treat your pet as we would our own!
