Dr. Chris Tucker, DVM

Dr. Tucker is both anxious and excited as he continues his pursuit of establishing, owning, and operating a veterinary clinic that meets his standards of pet and client care. As a local Frisco resident, he embarks upon this journey with the utmost pride in providing only the very best in veterinary medicine to his clients, family, and neighbors.

Dr. Tucker graduated from Plano East Senior High School in 1994. Undergraduate studies were completed at Texas Tech University and he is happy to declare himself a dedicated Red Raider. While attending school in Lubbock, he met his wife Lisa, who is also the practice administrator here at Frisco West. They graduated in 1998 and returned to Dallas where they began teaching in the south Dallas suburb of Duncanville. College Station came calling one year later and Dr. Tucker and Lisa headed south to begin veterinary school over the summer of 1999. After four great years in Aggieland Dr. Tucker graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors and returned to the north Dallas area with Lisa and their young daughter Alexis.

Dr. Tucker was fortunate to practice in a progressive small animal practice in Plano where he was able to grow as a practitioner and foster the mindset of becoming a veterinary clinic owner himself.

After six and a half years, Dr. Tucker felt the time was right to pursue his dream and bring Frisco West Animal Medical Center to the community in which he resides.

The Tucker family includes Chris, Lisa, Alexis (16), Reid (14), two Shih Tzu's named Riggs and Axel, one Lhasa mix named Oliver, two fish, two leopard geckos, one pacman frog, two chameleons, one skink, and one anole. Life for the Tuckers is like that of most Frisco residents, busy with school, sports, birthday parties, business, teaching, and life in general. With all that life entails, the Tuckers pride themselves on being able to focus on those things that are most important, primarily just spending time together. Their favorite activities are boating and water sports any time the sun is shining. Dr. Tucker’s other interests include golf, running, and college football.

Dr. Justin Burgin, DVM

Dr. Burgin grew up in Scurry, Texas. Being surrounded by horses, cattle and family pets fostered an interest in the care of animals at an early age. He completed his Bachelors of Science degree from Texas
Tech University in 2006. During that time, he had the honor of serving as the university’s official mascot, the Masked Rider, for his senior year. Dr. Burgin then attended the Texas A&M University College of
Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2010 along with his wife, Beth. They started their veterinary careers together at a mixed animal practice in Temple, Texas.

Since moving back home to the DFW metroplex in 2011, Dr. Burgin owned and operated an ambulatory equine dental service while continuing to develop his skills as a small animal practitioner. His favorite part of being a veterinarian is interacting with clients and teaming with them to reach their desired health goals for each pet. He believes that client education and being able to effectively communicate a plan are the cornerstones of serving each client well. Dr. Burgin became certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture in 2014 and has enjoyed incorporating this age-old technique to help improve his patient’s quality of life and mobility in their senior years. When Dr. Burgin is not at the clinic, he loves to spend time with his wife, Beth, his sons, Joshua and Jordan, and two Golden Retrievers, Molly and Macey. The Burgins enjoy spending their free time being involved with their church, traveling, watching and playing baseball, swimming, and riding horses.

Dr. William Cozart, DVM

Dr. Cozart grew up in Commerce, TX where he was commonly referred to as the "Turtle Man" by many family and friends because of his knack for always finding and collecting any wild critter under the sun. His love and compassion for animals along with his strong interest in science and medicine have driven him to help people through the practice of veterinary medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A&M University in 2007 and then remained in College Station to obtain a DVM from Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. He has been with Frisco West Animal Medical Center since 2015 and has enjoyed getting the opportunity to meet and impact the Frisco community. Dr. Cozart's professional interests include: pathology, hematology, cytology, and dermatology.

Dr. Cozart revels in being outdoors (playing golf, hiking, fishing, and running). He's allergic to cell phones unless they're playing Led Zepplin, The Rolling Stones, or Pink Floyd. He's a huge Dallas Mavericks fanatic and still enjoys playing the game of basketball. He learned the art of stained glass making from his father and appreciates the challenge of designing his own stained-glass windows and lamps. Dr. Cozart's furry family includes a Golden Retriever named Jet and a Maine Coon cat named Bob. Dr. Cozart always says "every day is an opportunity to build relationships with our fellow brothers, sisters, and animals! Don't waste a day"!
