Michael T. Ikeda, VMD
Dr. Michael Ikeda is the proud owner of Muirlands Animal & Avian Hospital since 1988. He graduated with BA and MA degrees in Biology from UCLA, before completed his VMD degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Ikeda has been in the Southern California area for over 25 years and calls Mission Viejo his home. He has saved countless birds working with Pacific Wildlife over the years, but he is most proud of the 5 previous employees fulfilling their dreams of becoming veterinarians through his guidance. Dr Ikeda's personal hobbies include golfing, hiking, and traveling especially to visit family in Hawaii.
Dr. Fred Brewer IV, DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology)
Dr. Fred Brewer is a board certified (American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine) veterinary cardiologist. He received his veterinary degree from Cornell University in 2009. Following the 4 years at Cornell University, he completed a 1-year general rotating internship at the California Animal Hospital Veterinary Specialty Group in West Los Angeles with Dr. Stephen J. Ettinger.
Dr. Linda Larsen, DVM, MS, ACVSD

Dr. Linda J. Larsen is a board-certified small animal surgeon and the sole proprietor of Pacific Veterinary Surgery Services. She received her doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Minnesota, college of Veterinary Medicine in 1994.

Christine started working in the veterinary field for Dr. Ikeda in 1994. Muirlands has remained her second home for the last 24 years. Christine has also challenged herself in other area's of veterinary medicine including; Three years working with a renowned veterinary ophthalmologist, college instructor for PVAS, and working with the Veterinary Medical Board for the state of California. She has two crazy french bulldogs who she adores.
Ana has been a valued and loved team member since 1997! Ana is a registered veterinary technician and hospital supervisor. She is fluent in Spanish and has well over 20 years in avian care. After hours she likes to spend time with her family, pets, and friends. She is also a expert in Pokemon :)
Sheila is our Director of First Impressions and has been a team member since 1996! Sheila is truly awesome all around. This hospital is blessed to have her :) At home sheila and her boyfriend Gary have a happy life with their furry and feathered babies, Angel, Jilly, and Buddy.
Shawn is our certified groomer with over 15 years of experience and a team member here since 1995. Shawn is an avid sportsman and enjoys league bowling (he has 7 perfect games of 300), volleyball, and Over-the-Line baseball (world champs 7 times.) When he's not so active he likes to play Sudoku. His family includes his lovely wife Susan and sweet collie Speed.
Team Member since 2015. Nana is our veterinary assistant with years of experience. Nana is fluent in Japanese and a wonderful help to all of us. Nana lives with her cats Milky, Kona and Lani who all bring her love and happiness.
