Welcome to Zionsville Animal Hospital where our staff of veterinarians and associates are all pledged to treat your dogs and cats  with the most modern veterinary care and lots of love. Below you’ll read about our veterinarians who welcome new patients and their owners. We hope to see you soon!

Carey Wasem, DVM

Dr. Wasem, a native of Aberdeen, South Dakota, is a 1990 graduate in veterinary medicine from the University of Minnesota. After four years as a practicing veterinarian in Sacramento, CA, he moved to the Zionsville area.

Dr. Wasem is currently chief veterinarian at the Zionsville Animal Hospital. His professional areas of special interest are canine and feline internal medicine, soft tissue injuries, and orthopedic surgery. Dr. Wasem has also hosted a weekly radio show, The Pet Doctor, on Indy station WIBC.

Dr. Wasem and his wife, Tracey, also a veterinarian, have two children, Rachel and Michael. They are also proud owners of Guiness, their very friendly (and rambunctious) Labrador Retriever and Niko and Lelo, their sibling Apple Head Siamese cats.

Dr. Wasem is an avid cyclist, ice hockey buff and water ski enthusiast who also enjoys trips back home to South Dakota.

Loren W. Noblitt, MS, DVM

Dr. Loren Noblitt received his D.V.M. degree from Purdue University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010.  He is a Michigan native who has lived in Zionsville, IN since 2004.  Dr. Noblitt was an avid volunteer and employee of the Humane Society of Genesee County in Flint, MI while working towards a B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Michigan, which he received in 2001.  He received an M.S. degree in Veterinary Virology from Purdue University in 2003, where his research focused on genetically altering viruses to carry therapeutic genes into human breast cancer cells found to be lacking these genes.

Outside of work, Dr. Noblitt’s interests include following Michigan football, traveling, playing the drums and the guitar, white water rafting, training for and participating in triathlons, and occasionally—golfing. He enjoys spending quality time outside of work with his two children, Isabelle and Luke, and loving on their adorable and all white cat, Lily. Dr. Noblitt’s philosophy of veterinary care is simple:  “I strive to treat each patient as though I am treating one of my own pets and to educate my clients to the best of my ability so that they can make good, practical, informed decisions on their pet’s behalf.

Amy Rader, DVM

Dr. Amy Rader graduated from the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She practiced in the Lafayette, IN area for 6 years, then completed an additional 3-year advanced training program in Emergency and Critical Care. Prior to joining the Zionsville Animal Hospital staff, she worked for a 24hour Emergency/Specialty hospital in the Indianapolis area. She brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and advanced skills in diagnostic imaging, soft tissue surgery, pain management and the management of acute and chronic health conditions. She has also taken on the role of maintaining our Cat Friendly Practice status, which maintains a higher standard of care for our feline patients by expanding our knowledge of newer treatment options, and advocating for reduced stress/stress free veterinary visits.

Dr. Rader shares her home with her husband Bruce and 4 cats: Hallie, Browning, Stubbs, and Humane Society for Boone County alum, Ruger. In her free time she enjoys gardening and volunteer activities.
