Valentine’s day is a time for people to treat the ones they love to some extra attention, and this includes our furry companions! Reports show that one out of five people buy something for their furry friend whilst over half report that they cuddle with their pets more than their partner on this special day.

Here are some great ways to spend time with your pet on Valentine’s Day!

1. Do Something They Love: Whether your dog loves to go on long walks, or your cat loves to play with their favourite toy, lace up your boots or grab that toy and get going! Don't forget, it's their day so just relax and give some TLC to your four-legged friend!
2. Spoil Them with Some Fancy Treats: They say the way to a man’s heart is through their stomach, and the same is true for our pets! Although you should steer clear of the chocolate aisle when picking out the best treat for your pet, that doesn't limit your options. If you want to spoil them even more, you can even make dog and cat-friendly treats at home. Everything tastes better when it's made with love!
3. Let Them Pick Out Their Own Toy: Kids love going to the toy store to pick out what they want, so why not do the same with your pet? Once they pick their favourite gift, make sure to stay and enjoy it with them! They will most certainly enjoy the extra company as much as their new gift!
4. Arrange a Play Date: Many dogs enjoy playing with others. Take your furry friend to the dog park or arrange a play date. Your dog will love to play and run around in an open environment!
5. Arrange a Photoshoot: Chances are your phone gallery is already filled with adorable photos of your furry friends, but having some professional portraits are something you can cherish forever!
