Signs and Symptoms of Animal Cancer

Of course, specific signs and symptoms can vary greatly based on the type of animal cancer a pet has, the type of pet, and how much cancer has progressed. Still, there are some general signs and symptoms that many pets will display early on that pet owners should stay vigilant of.

Unexplained sores, lumps, or areas of swelling on the body could be signs of tumors that need to be investigated. Often times, these growths turn out to be benign (harmless), but it's still important to have them checked out by a vet as soon as possible.

Many pets with cancer will also experience unexplained and sudden weight loss or appetite, as well as lethargy. Pet owners may notice that a dog or cat simply doesn't seem to be acting him or herself; this alone is a justified reason to schedule an appointment with our veterinary team so we can perform any necessary testing. When it comes to the possibility of pet cancer, it is always better to be safe than sorry.

Other symptoms to watch out for include:
