A Day in the Life of a Veterinary Technician

Ever wonder what it is like to work in an animal hospital?  Like the doctors, I decided to start a blog too! I will post at least once a month but I will try to do so more often. Read my blog and I will tell you my day to day glamorous activities that go on here. It’s not exactly Grey’s Anatomy... It’s more like CSI Miami meets Modern Family. Think of the family including a four legged friend named “Eenie Beenie” or a 2lb Yorkshire Terrier named “Megatron”.  Sometimes my job makes me smile and even laugh. Can you see me going to the waiting room and calling in the next patient? 

On the other hand, we are here to help these little furbabies.  But our animal friends can’t talk so we  have to do “an investigation” of sorts.  This week for instance, we were presented with a pet that suddenly couldn’t use his left hind leg and we had to find out why the leg appeared to be broken.  Luckily it was not. Poor little guy is going to be OK.  Xrays revealed no broken bones and the doctor determined it was a soft tissue injury. A little pain medication will go a long way.   This is all in a day here at the local animal hospital.  It certainly is never dull. Stay tuned to find out what else shows up on our doorstep!
