Julia has been working around horses since age 8 when she took her first job mucking stalls in a local stable in exchange for riding lessons. From that time on, she has had a passion for riding and working with horses. After attending college for nursing, she worked for several years as an ICU/trauma nurse and continued riding and competing in hunter/jumper.
She decided to return to professional school for veterinary medicine and attended North Carolina State University for her veterinary degree. Her interests in equine medicine and ambulatory practice led her to her first job working in New Jersey. The establishment of Allerton Equine, LLC was the completion of a dream several years in the making. When not working with horses, she loves hiking with her husband, playing the violin, gardening and studying birds.
