Dog Friendly Restaurants in Lafayette, LA

For Me and My Furry Friend

You’re taking a walk with your dog when you start getting hangry. You don’t want to take your furry canine friend home before sitting down to a nice lunch or dinner. However, most eateries frown upon bringing pets inside their establishment.

The only way most restaurants and cafes will permit a dog to sit with you while you eat is if they are a service dog. A service dog receives special treatment, but you may need the paperwork to prove it. All other pets must wait outside while you dine. However, there are a few places that are pet-friendly around Lafayette. Just make sure you are courteous and your dog is well-trained before taking them out to eat.

Taco Sisters

With a food truck for mobile dining, Taco Sisters provides a delicious menu that you can enjoy while out with your pet. Enjoy fresh ingredients that come together for the best tacos. Along with chicken and fish tacos, you can order vegetarian tacos. Along with the food truck, there are two locations with outdoor seating where your faithful friend can lie at your feet.

Artmosphere Bistro

This local restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, but the eclectic design of the patio will draw you in. Enjoy live music every night along with weekly karaoke nights. With over 15 years in the business, you can expect some delicious foods and specialty drinks. Try the Muffuletta sliders with Genoa salami, provolone, ham, and olive salad or Duh Burg.

Romacelli

Dine with your pet in the cozy, romantic spot on either ends of the Lafayette Parish. With three locations offering outdoor dining, you can enjoy a nice lunch or dinner in a quiet atmosphere. Order a classic lasagna or sample the Cajun Seafood Pasta made with shrimp and crawfish. Pair your entrée with a cocktail or wine from an impressive beverage list. The Italian-Mediterranean menu will delight your taste buds.

Blue Dog Café

You would expect to be allowed to bring your pet to an eatery that includes “dog” in its name, and you would be correct. This restaurant promotes itself as a place where you can bring Fido. Dogs are welcome in the outside dining area and the servers even bring a bowl of water for your canine friend. Try the Blue Dog Poboy with your choice of meats or enjoy the crawfish enchiladas.

Ruffino’s on the River

Enjoy a spectacular view with seasonal items on the menu and outdoor tables where your pet can relax while you eat. This restaurant offers a wide range of food, including Italian, seafood, steaks, and wood-fired pizza. With everything from the classic shrimp alfredo to tuna shitake and filet mignon, you won’t leave hungry. Try the Pork Tchoupitoulas with New Orleans style barbeque shrimp and mashed potatoes.

With so many pet-friendly dining establishments in Lafayette, there’s no reason to leave your dog at home when you want to go out and eat. Just check out one of these venues on your next outing.

Testimonial

  • "Dr Mayer, performed a surgical procedure to save the eye on our Boston terrier, Pete. He did a great job explaining what needed to be done and taking care of him. We are from Colorado and Dr Mayer worked with us to schedule the surgery so that the impact on our travel was minimized. They kenneled Pete while he healed and when we had to leave town for a week. I highly recommend this clinic. Both the doctor and the staff were always available to help us and provided the best service available."
