Meet Our Team

My name is Possum! I came to Mayer Vet Hospital in 2007 in search of a home of my own. Dr. Mayer and his staff were so nice to take me in, and I have lived here ever since. I enjoy visiting with everyone who comes to the hospital, especially other cats. My hobbies include tormenting the dogs who bark at me, chasing my tail, eating, and napping. My dislikes include people who don't pet me, weight management diets, and anyone sitting in my chair.

My name is Alex Ann, I was born and raised in Opelousas, Louisiana. After graduating in 2011 from
Opelousas Catholic School, I moved to Lafayette and attended ULL with a major in Biology and minor in
Physics. I own 3 dogs, a cat, a hedgehog, and a sugar glider. Growing up I lived on a farm, so I have been
around animals most of my life and felt like working at a veterinary clinic was the best choice for me.

My name is Heather Marks, I’m 38 years old and I am from Breaux Bridge, La. I graduated from Carencro
High School in 2000. My children are my life, I have 2 Boys (Gages & Saxon) and 2 girls (Payton & Breigh).
I own 1 cat (Mila) and 1 dog (Obi). I have been in the Veterinary field for 5 years; I enjoy meeting new
people and fur babies. My hobbies include spending times with my boyfriend and kids, coloring, sewing,
and most importantly making memories with the ones I love.

My name is Katie, I was born in Boca Raton Florida and moved to Lafayette in 2009. I graduated from
Comeaux High in 2016. I graduated from Penn Foster Career School with a certificate in Veterinary
Assisting in July 2017. In my spare time I enjoy listening to music, watching anime, and playing the
drums. I enjoy veterinary medicine and can’t wait to learn more!

My name is Kirstin, I was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. I graduated from Lafayette High in
2011. I have a handsome six-year-old son named Elijah. I own 2 cats and 2 dogs; most were strays I
adopted. My hobbies are playing video games, cooking and drawing. I have volunteered at shelters in
Lafayette during the summer when I was in high school. Working at a vet clinic is an amazing experience,
I realized it was the best line of work for me!

My name is Nicole, I’m from Lafayette, Louisiana. I graduated from Comeaux High in 2014 and currently
enrolled at University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I’m a Senior in Biology with a concentration in Medical
and Allied Health Science, graduating in the Spring of 2020. My hobbies are hiking with my dogs, baking
and traveling. I’ve had a passion for animals since I was a little girl, working at a veterinary clinic was a
dream come true. I’m looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for me!
