Kitten Care

Kittens receive the first set of shots at eight weeks old. At three months old, your kitten should receive a second set of vaccinations. After the first two rounds of vaccines, cats need booster shots annually.

Puppy Care

Puppies should start receiving vaccinations at between six to eight weeks old. At 10-12 weeks old, your puppy will return to the veterinarian for another round of shots. Treatment to prevent heartworm starts at around 12-16 months. There is not a vaccine to prevent heartworm. Preventive treatment consists of regular medicine.
