Surgical Laser

The surgical laser is used on numerous surgical procedures in this hospital. By cauterizing with the laser, not cutting with a scalpel, there are significant benefits. These include less bleeding, less damage to surrounding tissue (which means faster healing time), less inflammation after surgery, and less pain. Though we encourage our clients to utilize the surgical laser option, there are currently two procedures in which the laser is required.

1. Dog neuters

2. Cat declaws

The laser benefits are so great with these two procedures that we will never again do them without the surgical laser! Neuters are less painful and our declaw patients are up walking as soon as they are awake - without pain and without large, uncomfortable wraps!
