Christina Spears, DVM, CVA
Dr. Christina Spears leads the team at Park Animal Hospital and Wellness Center. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She always loved animals and competed in horseback riding events in her teenage years. Her summers spent with the horses led her to veterinary medicine. Dr. Spears is a 1997 graduate of the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine. She practiced in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina before moving with her family to Colorado in 2007. She has worked locally in Highlands Ranch for the past 4 years. Dr. Spears has pursued further training in holistic medicine, becoming a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist in 2002 with the International Veterinary Acupuncuture Society. She completed Traditional Chinese Medicine herbal training in 2008 through A Time to Heal. She also works with homotoxicology, Western herbals medicine, nutritional therapies and homeopathy.
Christine Pugh, DVM
Dr. Christine Pugh grew up on a small hobby farm in Erie, CO where she rehabilitated rescue horses, cats, and dogs. Through her father’s occupation as a veterinary radiologist in the northern Denver metropolitan area, it was not uncommon that unwanted animals with chronic illnesses were brought home to join the family. She earned her B.A. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2012, and then went on to earn her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University in 2017. She worked at a small animal practice for 2 years in Aroura after she graduated where she saw both general practice and emergency cases. Her passions in veterinary medicine are surgery, radiology, and pain management.
She lives with her husband, Brandon, her German shepherd dog, Dexter, and a little stripy cat named Noodle. She enjoys road cycling, mountain biking, horseback riding, DJing, and creating anything artistic.
Justine Barone, DVM
Dr. Justine Barone grew up in South Florida, with a constant stream of household pets and frequent exposure to many species of wildlife and other exotic animals. She earned her B.A. at University of Chicago in 2003 and worked for a non-profit organization for several years before pursuing her lifelong interest in veterinary medicine. She completed a combined degree program at Colorado State University, earning her DVM and MBA degrees concurrently. Dr. Barone is certified in veterinary medical acupuncture and enjoys addressing chronic pain in dogs and cats as well as working with clients to prevent and manage disease across all stages of their pets’ lives. In her free time, Dr. Barone enjoys playing tennis, hiking, fly-fishing, nose-work, and spending time with her husband, two cats, and wild Labrador Retriever

Practice Manager
Laura is a Certified Veterinary Technician, graduating from the Bel-Rea Institute after moving to Colorado from Indiana in 2006. Laura is an excellent veterinary technician, with fantastic skills in the lab. She is very kind & compassionate, always finding ways to minimize stress for our pet patients.
In her spare time she enjoys exploring the forests, snowboarding, fishing, and playing with her cattle dogs, Johnny, June, and Daisy Dew Drop. She also shares her time and love with Wolfy the cat.

Lead Client Service Representative
Cynthia is a strong Colorado gal with a huge heart! Her career spans many years and areas of the veterinary field. Whether she's volunteering at Denver shelters or the Humane Society in Hawaii, working at large hospitals or small practices, she never loses site of her goal to help animals and their owners.
Her life also revolves around her three little dogs, Abbey Road, Jenna Jolie, and Danielle. You might see them when you come to Park Animal Hospital & Wellness Center, as they are also part of the front desk crew. DJ, the handsome cat, is always at home to greet the girls after a long day of work.

Kandice moved to Denver from Southern California in 2011. She has always had a passion for all types of animals and has always known veterinary medicine is where she is meant to be. As a CSR and vet assistant, Kandice enjoys the ups and downs the days in vet medicine bring and helping other people’s pets.

Technician Assistant
SJ is a Colorado Native! She has been working in the veterinary field since 2000.
In 2011, SJ earned an A.A.S from Arapahoe Community College, then in 2019, a B.S in Exercise Physiology. She teaches body positive fitness classes and also enjoys kick boxing!
SJ and her fiancé, Chelle, live in Denver with their two kitties, Gilda and Ansel Andy.
Aaron
Technician Assistant
Aaron moved to Denver from Florida in March of 2019. After earning a degree in Zoo Animal Technology in 2016, he was a zookeeper in Florida, and currently volunteers at Denver Zoo. Aaron has found a fantastic group at Park Animal Hospital and is valued as a technician assistant and CSR.
He enjoys hiking with his little Goldendoodle and fiancé, as well as playing board games, drawing, and writing. He finds ways to stay positive, is always bringing laughter to those around him, and believes it's important to do your best where you can.
Cassie
Technician Assistant
Being a Colorado native, Cassie has always been an animal enthusiast and lover. She is a technician assistant here at Park Animal Hospital, and has been working in the animal field since 2016. She began working as a kennel attendant at several dog daycares and boarding facilities, and has worked her way up to technician assistant.
Aside from work, Cassie spends much of her time enjoying Colorado and what it has to offer - music, the great outdoors, and most importantly, the food! Exploring and creating unforgettable memories with her family and friends is what she loves most.
