Our emergency veterinarian is available any time our clinic is open throughout the day. If an emergency should arise after our normal business hours, our clinic works with surrounding emergency vets to help accommodate your pet's needs. Paws and Claws Pet Medical Center can meet a variety of emergent needs for avians, exotics, dogs and cats. If you suspect an emergency may be occurring, do not delay, we want to hear from you right away. 

Emergency Prevention and Emergency Services 

We strive to help prevent emergencies from occurring in the first place by educating our patient community. Keeping an emergency prevention checklist to go over once a month can help keep your loved pets out of danger. Be sure all medications, outdoor chemicals and household cleaners are kept in cabinets your pet can not access. Keep any potential foods such as chocolate stored in a place your pet will not be tempted to sniff out. During hotter summer weather, be sure to provide enough water to prevent dehydration accidents as well. If your pet roams outside on your property, look over all gates and fences ensuring they are free from jagged edges, no holes for exit exist and that they are in overall good shape. 

Pets may experience emergencies related to car accidents, wounds, poisoning and sudden illness. You may notice changes to your pet's behavior, a laceration, changes in bathroom habits, listlessness, fatigue and vomiting. If you observe any of these signs or symptoms, we urge you to err on the side of caution by giving us a call. 

When necessary, we also perform general and orthopedic surgeries. Our caring staff will monitor your pet's vitals during and after surgery. We will watch over your postoperative pet until they are ready to return home.
