Blackbob Pet Hospital is a locally owned and operated veterinary practice located in Olathe, KS. Our AAHA accredited, multi-doctor practice offers veterinary services, ultrasound, dentistry, radiology, surgery, nutrition, medicine, grooming, and pet lodging. For your convenience early morning drop-offs, same day, lunchtime, and weekend appointments are offered to work around your busy schedule.
We believe that knowledge and understanding are the building blocks for empowered and trusted decisions. We work to inform and explain our findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans, in order to partner together in caring for your pet as a team. We invest our resources where they matter most- in our staff and the equipment that aids in treatment options for your pet. We invest time and money in the education of the entire staff with continuing education meetings, and celebrate our team with team building outings.
From the moment you enter our doors we have tried to make your visit as pleasant as possible. Our lobby, exam rooms, grooming, treatment, lodging areas have diffusers that aid in the calming of your pet. These diffusers are all natural, have no adverse reactions, and are non-detectable to us. Our implementation of this and other Fear Free ideas are our way of building trust, forming a lasting bond, and creating a second home for your pet. If your pet is a little worried about coming to the vet please let us know when setting up your appointment. Your pets comfort is of the upmost concern to us.
Our voluntary AAHA accreditation is another step in our commitment to the quality of the care your pet receives and the environment the care is given in. We regularly are inspected by AAHA and have to pass over 900 rigorous standards to keep accreditation. These standards address patient care and pain management, surgery, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, medical records, cleanliness, emergency services, dental care, diagnostic imaging, anesthesiology, and continuing education. Only 12-15% of veterinary hospitals in the United States and Canada are accredited by AAHA.
