We offer a variety of services here at Blackbob Pet Hospital in Olathe. Our services include comprehensive exams and preventative care, surgery, vaccinations, pet illness and daytime urgent care, dentistry, ultrasound, radiology, pet lodging, grooming and more. Our voluntary AAHA accreditation is another step in our commitment to the quality of the care your pet receives and the environment the care is given in. We regularly are inspected by AAHA and have to pass over 900 rigorous standards to keep accreditation.

Comprehensive Exams and Preventative Care

Yearly wellness exams are important to help prolong and maintain the health of pets. Our goal is to identify health issues early on with comprehensive exams, when paired with  yearly bloodwork we are better able to identify issues at the earliest stages. We will discuss your pet's health history and partner with you to develop a customized preventative plan for vaccinations, testing, and preventatives such as flea, tick, and heartworm.  Heartworm prevention is critically important as Overland Park,KS has been rated as of 2019, as the # 1 city in the nation for increases in positive heartworm cases by the CAPC /Companion Animal Parasite Council.

Surgery

We strive to provide top quality surgical care for your pet. Our highly skilled veterinarians perform many types of surgical procedures in our surgical suite with the health, comfort, and safety of your pet as our utmost priority.  Before your pet’s procedure one of our staff will discuss your pets individualized surgical treatment plan. We are proud to offer the scheduled services of Dr. DeLuke and Dr. Franklin for orthopedic surgery including TPLO, bone plating, fracture repair, and more. More information about our surgical procedure process can be found here.

Vaccinations                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              We offer high quality vaccinations, our recommendations are based on the health and life stage of your pet. Vaccinations can help prevent your cats or dogs from contracting a disease or other condition that can greatly impact their health. 

Pet Illness & Urgent Care

When your pet is ill enough to need immediate care, we have daytime urgent care services.  Please call us ahead of time if you can so that we can plan for your pet's arrival and ensure that we are able to meet your pet's emergency needs.

Dentistry

Dental checkups and cleanings are also important to ensure the health of your pet. We recommend periodic dental cleanings to keep your pet's teeth clean and healthy and to prevent any dental related health issues.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound can help diagnose a disease with your pet and may be recommended based on abnormal bloodwork, physical exam or x-ray findings. More details regarding ultrasound and the process can be found here
