  • Danielle
    Danielle Landreth, DVM

    Dr. Landreth was born and raised in Arizona and had aspirations of becoming a veterinarian since childhood. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Agribusiness in 2004. Dr. Landreth joined Power Road Animal Hospital in 2008 after receiving her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University, where she graduated with honors. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially internal medicine, dermatology, and soft tissue surgery. Her family includes her wonderful husband (Casey), daughter (Taylor), son (Easton), two dogs (Nadia & Fuzzy), cat (Leonard), and hamsters (Wally & Eva).

    John Stephens, DVM

    Dr. Stephens received his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Arizona before graduating from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. He has lived in Arizona for more than 20 years and currently lives in Chandler, with his pride and joy, a kitty named “Murphy”.. Dr. Stephens has worked at several veterinary clinics in Maricopa County and joined Power Road Animal in September 2006. He enjoys all aspects of small animal veterinary medicine and in his off time he enjoys traveling and music.

    Tom Bettenhausen, DVM

    Dr. Tom Bettenhausen grew up in rural North Dakota. His undergraduate was at North Dakota State University (home of the Bison), graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science. “Dr. Tom” moved to Manhattan, Kansas to complete his veterinary degree in 1981. He practiced in a 4 doctor mixed practice in Jamestown, North Dakota for 3 years. In 1984, Dr. Tom started working for Missouri Valley Veterinary, a 2 doctor mixed practice in Bismark, North Dakota, which he purchased in 1987.

    Today, that practice features 11 doctors and a separate location at Pinehurst Veterinary. Dr. Tom enjoys all aspects of small and large animal practice with a focus on small animal surgery and special interest in orthopedic procedures.

    Dr. Tom’s hobbies are woodworking and gardening. He is married (Ruth) and has 4 children, 2 cats and a dog. He is a member of AVMA, AAHA, Veterinary Orthopedic Society and the ND Examining Board.

    Mel Johnson, DVM

    Dr. Mel Johnson grew up in Iowa and South Dakota with a passion for both animals and sports. She attended the University of South Dakota, where she was a pitcher and outfielder for the Coyotes softball team. She graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology. Dr. Johnson spent a year after graduation coaching softball at Iowa Lakes Community College prior to following her dream of becoming a veterinarian at Iowa State University. Her special interests include exotics, emergency medicine, and surgery.

    Her family currently consists of two blue nose pitbulls – Nokona and Biggie, as well as an Olde English Bulldogge named Jersey. In her free time, Dr. Johnson enjoys watching and playing sports, spending time with her dogs, swimming, horseback riding, playing cards, and eating tacos. Dr. Johnson looks forward to meeting and getting to know you and your furry friends!

    Juli Sorenson, DVM

    Dr. Juli Sorenson is originally from San Diego, California and graduated veterinary school from the University of Missouri with honors. Dr. Sorenson first fell in love with veterinary medicine as a child when she helped with the daily treatment of her family’s diabetic dog. She has thoroughly embraced every aspect of this always-exciting field ever since. When not helping animals in need, Dr. Sorenson enjoys riding her horse, photographing the Sonoran landscape, and enjoying all the delicious food that Arizona has to offer!

    Landon Brough

    Dr. Landon Brough is excited to serve the clients of Power Road Animal Hospital and ensure their furry family members are happy, healthy, pain free and live their best lives! Dr. Brough grew up not far from Power Road Animal Hospital in Gilbert, Arizona where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Applied Biological Sciences from Arizona State University. He then traded in the desert landscape and saguaro cacti for the rolling wheat fields of the Palouse where he went on to receive his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University, go Cougs! Dr. Brough embraces the varying challenges of veterinary medicine and has developed specific interests in preventative medicine, soft-tissue surgery, dermatology and internal medicine.

    When not serving the clients and patients of Power Road Animal Hospital, you may find Dr. Brough teaming up with his lovely wife, Ashlin, as they attempt to appease their children Dora, Theodroe and Charlie. His two cats, Ruben and Maple, are frequently found rolling their eyes at his and his wife's attempts to maintain their home. In the rare moments of peace, Dr. Brough will be found in the kitchen refining his cooking skills, in the backyard tending to his garden or on the patio relaxing with his guitar with friends and family.
