Background
Dr. Husar earned his DVM from the University of Illinois in 1984, graduating with high honors. Prior to that, he graduated from Millikin University Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Biology.
He also taught anatomy and biology at Millikin for a year before proceeding to the University of Illinois. He came to work at what had been Samuelson Animal Clinic in 1985, where he helped expand the practice over the following several years. He became a significant shareholder in 1992. He encouraged and facilitated the construction of a new hospital facility on the grounds of the original Samuelson property in 1994. It was at that point that the name of the practice was changed to Sutton Road Animal Hospital. Dr. Husar became the majority shareholder of Sutton Road Animal Hospital in 2003, and the sole shareholder in 2008. At this time, Dr. Husar is no longer seeing clients due to health concerns, but he is still reachable if anyone is interested in “reminiscing the old days”. He is married to Donna, and they have three children. The Husar family also includes two dogs, Ed and Daisy, 10 chickens, and an adopted duck named Lucy Ricardo.
