What is Laser Therapy? 

Cold Laser Therapy is a non-invasive FDA approved technology for pets (and humans) that is a pain-free, drug-free, and surgery-free way to treat a variety of injuries, wounds, and illnesses. 

Essentially, non-thermal photons of light are emitted from a hand held device that is directed at the treatment area.   The body’s cells respond with a heightened metabolism, resulting in increased circulation, a reduction of pain and inflammation, and increased speed of healing.

Pet Laser Therapy is safe for cats and dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds. It can be provided as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with other services including medication, surgery, lifestyle modifications, and/or nutritional supplements.

What to Expect During Your Pet's Laser Therapy Session

A typical cold laser therapy session will usually last around 10-20 minutes. The staff at Sutton Road Animal Hospital will ensure your pet is in a comfortable location and position for the treatment.  The almost immediate pain relief that is experienced when the treatment starts will allow your pet to relax and any anxiety is often relieved as well.  Some patients may even fall asleep!  For optimal results, multiple laser therapy sessions may be needed.
