Our Pharmacy
Ames Pet Hospital’s pharmacy contains a variety of the very best medications from well-known and respected pharmaceutical and veterinary supply companies. We love all of the animal patients who come through our doors and aim to provide quality, choice, care and service to them through our medication options. Our staff is well educated on the heartworm and flea/tick preventative medications we provide along with offering information on new supplemental and anxiety products on the market today. We are an “in-house” pharmacy, meaning we only distribute to those who have a current client-patient relationship with our hospital and doctors.
Online Pharmacies
Clients are more frequently turning to online pharmacies for their products. While some are legitimate, others are not and could be distributing fraudulent and counterfeit products which can be potentially harmful to your pets. As a result, we do not fax prescriptions to online pharmacies. We can fill prescriptions at our facility, call in the prescription to a local pharmacy (not all medications can be provided by human pharmacies), or provide a written prescription that our client can then mail to the desired pharmacy. We believe this is the best and safest route to take when it comes to ensuring the health of your pet.
