How to Choose a Veterinarian

We believe you should expect high quality care as well as great service.  Our goal has been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional client service and veterinary health care.  We recommend you choose a veterinarian who is kind, calm and compassionate.  The doctor should be patient and willing to explain all the procedures or tests that your pet may need.  The clinic should have a qualified staff and facilities to perform these procedures and diagnostic tests.

What to Expect during Your Visit

Your pet's annual vet visit will include a total physical exam.  This includes a thorough investigation of your pet's head, body, and all his assorted cavities. Just like us, animal's teeth need regular cleaning and maintenance.  Your vet will carefully check your pet's mouth for any signs of dental tartar or tooth decay.  Because even the most cooperative pet may not tolerate daily tooth brushing, an annual cleaning maybe in order.  Based on the physical exam findings, your veterinarian may suggest blood work or additional diagnostics to accompany the exam.  For example, senior pets (those above 8) should have yearly blood work drawn to check for any abnormalities that may afflict older animals.

How to Prepare for a Visit

We recommend that you keep a diary of your pet's behavioral and elimination habits and any medical treatments like flea and tick medication.  Keeping track of small shifts in your pet's behavior, including urinary marking habits and mood swings, can help your veterinarian make the correct diagnosis.  This is also a good place to record vaccines they have received or any previous blood abnormalities they may have had.  We look forward to meeting with you and your pet!
